Life & Loss Doula Services

Hi, I’m Amanda!

Some people say you don’t become a doula, you are born a doula. Since childhood I’ve been interested in loss, death, dying, and grief experiences. A storyteller at heart, I find meaning in the small details that make up the whole.

As a doula, I work with people in many capacities:

planning for & navigating expected changes, coping with & finding meaning in unexpected change, and remembering & articulating past experiences.

My values are ever-evolving, but based in respecting & encouraging autonomy, disrupting assumptions about how people love & grieve, and ensuring that I identify and promote health & death care practitioners who are intersectional and non-discriminatory.

I love the work I do.

I believe that each person is their own best expert and I serve as a full-hearted human who meets you where you’re at, always respecting your plans, dreams, and limits.

I’m based in Edmonton, Alberta, and acknowledge this as traditional Cree, Blackfoot, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, and Métis Nation territory. I also support those farther away virtually, by phone, and travel.

I am a University of Vermont Certified End of Life Doula and Birthing Advocacy Certified Full-Spectrum Doula. I have trained with Sabia Wade, The Black Doula, Jill Shock, Death Doula LA, & Cole Imperi, American Thanatologist. I am currently working towards becoming a registered acupuncturist.

10% of my earnings are donated to causes I care deeply about including queer & trans support, environmental protection, and animal welfare.
